1 | The questions of the organization of project activities of students in elementary school at the appointed work: differences of concepts “project activity”, “project-based”. The project activity is considered as integrative. There was indicated the possibility of organizing the project activities for primary school lessons technology, art and others. Keywords: design of the junior school, project activity in the classroom in an elementary school, lessons of technology | 1188
2 | The article reveals an urgent topic for modern education: the organization of children’s research work. The author has analyzed the articles in the scientific regional journals “TSPU Bulletin” and “Scientific Pedagogical Review” (Tomsk). The analysis made it possible to identify the main trends in the study of educational research activities: 1. organization of research activities in the study of various academic disciplines (physics, mathematics, literature); 2. formation of research competencies of schoolchildren, including in the context of profile education; 3. features of the organization of research activities with children of preschool and primary school age. In addition to these directions, there are other aspects of the topic. This is the experience of holding children’s scientific conferences and competitions, the application of educational research in the development of gifted children. The review of the contents of the articles allows us to draw a number of conclusions about the state of this scientific and pedagogical problem. The author showed that there is a deficit of articles on scientific directions in this field. For example, the review of articles did not reveal the existence of publications about the possibilities of applying the study in the teaching methods of certain disciplines (history, social science, technology, chemistry). These deficits open up opportunities for new pedagogical research. 3 | The author considers in the article the possibility of forming universal educational actions for children of primary school age in the process of solving design problems in school conditions. The federal state educational standard of primary general education highlights universal learning activities as an important educational outcome. Universal actions can develop in different types of vigorous activity, in particular, in project activities. The author compared the goal, result, content, way of interaction and the role of the teacher in project activities and in solving design problems. It is concluded that the project task is an important component of the project activity, its initial stage. The process of solving design problems in elementary school ensures the gradual mastering by younger schoolchildren of a new type of activity for them – project activities. Primary school students form design skills that are of a universal nature. Project and universal skills have a common content, therefore, when solving project problems, different groups of universal learning actions are formed: communicative, regulatory, and cognitive. Project tasks are implemented with children of primary school age in group collaboration under the guidance of a teacher. The set of tools specially prepared by the teacher are important. These tools allow you to create a game or life problem situation, solving which children apply subject knowledge and universal skills. A similar experience in solving design problems was put into practice in the Rassvet Primary School, Tomsk Region. 4 | The author considers the issue of the implementation of the continuity of preschool and primary education. Continuity is understood as the interaction between different levels of education. This interaction provides the development of children, enriching their knowledge and experience. It is based on taking into account the specifics of age, the leading type of activity, on the use of appropriate, effective for each situation means, methods, forms of pedagogical activity. The continuity of methods and means is aimed at establishing a smooth phased formation of the child’s learning activities and moving him from one educational level to another. The author analyzes the standards of preschool and primary general education from the perspective of the implementation of continuity. The analysis showed similarities in goals, in a theoretical and methodological basis (system-activity approach), in the structure, which allows us to determine the consistency of the content and methods of its implementation at the levels of preschool and primary education. An important mechanism of continuity is the search for cross-cutting, that is, relevant for different levels of education, technologies and methods. This requirement meets the project, which the author presents as an integrative activity, combining game, research, creative activities. The researcher presents the special results of the implementation of project activities in each age group and their relationship. 5 | In 2020, educational organizations switched to a forced remote format and the learning process changed. The author described the changes in approaches to the organization of events for the presentation of the results of children’s research work. In this article, the researcher showed different options for organizing contests and conferences for children remotely. A description of the experience of the children’s research competition at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University is presented, where the participants sent video recordings of their reports. The experience of holding a children’s conference in the gymnasium No. 29 in Tomsk is described. When analyzing the author took into account: how many participants, the ability to remotely attend participants from other places, the possibility of discussing reports, the possibility of using visual material, demonstrations. Conducting contests in the format of videoconferences and video recordings of children’s public speeches is a new effective format for presenting the results of children’s research. This form can help motivate children, increase their research interest and cognitive activity. This is important in an environment where live communication is impossible. The author presented the advantages and disadvantages of face-to-face, distance, and mixed formats of educational events as presented in children’s research. Keywords: research papers competition, research activities of children, full-time, distance and mixed formats of children’s competitions and conferences | 573
6 | The issue of assessing the level of professionalism and competencies of a teacher in secondary education is discussed in the paper and the concepts of “teacher professionalism”, “teacher competence”, “assessment technologies” are presented as well. Factors indicating the need to update approaches to assessing professionalism of teacher’s are indicated. Analysis of literature review on subject “teacher’s competence” has been carried out and connection between the level of teacher’s professionalism and level of his/her professional competencies has been established. The present-day assessment technologies have been analized and described. The technologies have been categorized into 4 groups according to the method of interaction, advantages of each group have been considered. The problem has been revealed, that is the above technologies do not consider the connection between the assessment of professionalism of teaching staff with students’ learning results, thus making assessment not complete and objective. The newly developed technology using cluster analysis for assessing competencies of teachers via analysis of students’ learning results of some subjects in Unified State Exam has been presented. The following stages of the technology implementation have been described: firstly, Dataset formation for the research of students’ learning results in different subjects in different educational institutions (secondary schools); calculation of average result for each subject under study; formation of a table of average results; implementation of clustering algorithms; sorting out educational institutions into clusters according to clustering results; analysis of final results of assessment procedures within each cluster and lastly determination of teachers’ deficits. The results of the implementation of the technology have been presented in the paper on the example of the results of Tomsk region educational organizations (secondary schools) in subjects “Russian”, “Mathematics (profile level)” within the period from 2015 to 2019. The findings revealed that more than 30 % of students could not cope the above exam assignments. Later the assignments were compared with the specifications of the USE test measuring materials and «complex for students» assignments were identified for each cluster. The research results make possible identification of teachers’ difficulties in teaching different subjects, and therefore formation of an individual teacher refresher training trajectory for enhancing professional skills, especially on the part of outlining and working out the needed competencies necessary for effective operating in class within one academic discipline, the latter ultimately should affect both personal professional development of teachers and quality growth of students’ learning results. 7 | An analysis of approaches, technologies, models developed over the past three years related to the assessment of professionalism and the level of competencies of teachers is presented. The attention is focused on research and development, which is based on working with big data, the use of technical means to automate the assessment process. An approach to assessing the professional competencies of teachers based on the analysis of the results of their students is formulated. Within the framework of this paper, the 3rd stage of the technology for assessing professionalism and competence level of general education teachers has been improved, tested and described. Using the data of the learning results of Tomsk region secondary students in the national Unified State Exam (USE), 3 (three) clustering algorithms were applied by technology: k-means, spectral clustering, agglomerative clustering. The learning results under study were on 4 (four) subjects: Russian, Mathematics (profile level), Physics, and Social Studies for the period from 2015 to 2019. The above data were divided into 2 (two) arrays: Science and Humanities, and clustering algorithms mentioned were applied to them. The validity of the clusters was assessed by the method of Silhouette coefficient and Kalinsky-Harabasz index. Some measured parameters of the algorithms and the expediency of their use within the framework of the task were evaluated.
